Hi All
Would it be possible for you to look up the following items please?
Birth Caroline Tay (Thay,Theay) 07/03/1823 at St Martin Birmingham. Her parents are Thomas and Sarah.

I don't know the church of the marriage but the names are Thomas and Sarah Tay,They Theay (this date is a guess as their daughter was born in 1823).I am assuming they got married at St Martins as they registered the birth of their daughter here.
I really appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

Kind regards
Moomin

Hi All

I am still trying to track down the marriage of John and Sarah Bird between 1834 and 1837ish. I have tried contacting St Paul The Jeweller's Church as John was listed on the 1841,51 and 61 census as being a jeweller. What I want to know is, if his address was what looks like Key Hill or Kay Hill, Birmingham and the Municipal ward All Saints, what would be your guess as to his nearest C of E church?
Thanks folks
Moomin:)

The closest I can find is this one...
JOHN BIRD
Marriage: 18 SEP 1836 Saint Thomas, Dudley, Worcester
Spouse: SARAH PERRY
You may need to get the birth cert' of
Mary Ann born 1848 Volume: 16 Page: 255
so we know what the mother's maiden name was ...
As you know Elizabeth on the 1841 Cens was aged 4 so born berfore reg' started... Sarah should be after reg' as she is 1 in 1841
ELIZABETH BIRD Christening: 26 FEB 1837 All Saints, Birmingham, Warwick Father: JOHN BIRD Mother: SARAH
Sister Sarah:
(There is a Sarah Ann also born in 1840 but I thnk this is yours)
Bird Sarah Birmingham Volume16 Page:242
SARAH BIRD Christening: 19 JUL 1841 Saint George, Birmingham, Warwick, Father: JOHN BIRD Mother: SARAH
Hope this helps

Shera and Pomgolian

Have you found these records for Bird and Thay from the St Martins parish records? Are these available on line? Is it possible to get some sort of photocopy or copy certificate for the births, baptisms and marriages recorded in the parishes?
Also am I right in saying that caroline thay was born 1823 and not baptised until she was 7 years old in 1830? Was that usual in those days?
Finally would the Bird marriage in Dudley, Worcester be at the Birmingham records office on Holliday st?
Thanks folks for your help
Moomin:)x

hello moomin, the thay baptism is from the st. martins parish records which i purchased from bmsgh. i did look carefully at the dates as it is very unusual for the child to be baptised so late. sometimes parents took 3 or 4 children to be baptised together in which case the oldest child could be 6 or 7 but this is just the one child.

i will try to get you a copy of the baptism in the next day or two unless anyone else supplies it to you (reason being im hopeless at scanning). :)

Hi Shera
That is so kind of you. Sorry I didn't realise it was your own private property I thought it was some sort of public archive somewhere!Yes it is strange to wait so long to baptise a child!
Thanks again Shera
Moomin:)

mu hubby has scanned the image of the baptism for me so if you im your email address i will forward it to you :)

Thanks Shera
As you've probably guessed I'm quite new to all this so how do I let you know my email address without posting it on the net?
Moomin:)
