Birmingham then and in 2008

I always enjoyed that end of the Bull ring along by the Bus garage and over the road by the Rag market, especaly Saturdays, thankks for the photos and the memory.

What a brilliant set of photographs and the placing of the old and new together reminded us of how much the city has developed from the concrete monstrosity that the planners made it into during the 60's/70's. How lucky we were that people came to their senses in time before too many more acts of vandalism were commited in the name of progress.
Thanks again for some really excellent pics.

I feel quite nostalgic now. Is it just me or was it reallllllly bleak back then?

I remember going to town with Mom and Dad wearing those god-awful shiny black wellies in the snow that rubbed a ring around just below your knees.

Fabulous pics. Thanks
