The original former Stock Exchange is located at the corner of Margaret Street and Great Charles Street. It has grade 2 listing status. The date over the entrance in Margaret Street is 1928, underneath is carved 'Stock Exchange'. It is now modern office premises which are leased.
The developer's details tell us:
"the Stock Exchange Hall providing fantastic double height space and meeting rooms. The building contains a number of period features including exposed steels, oak panelled rooms, banking hall and basement safes.
The 35,000 sq ft building, which is in a conservation zone, was in use continuously as a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange until the Big Bang of 1987 resulted in its traditional dealing floor being replaced with new technology" .
Hopefully the WW1 memorial to staff still exists. Presumably it was erected in the Exchange Hall.
