i always thought that was a joke Viv the flashing headlight.
The light , which has been developed by Rolls Royce Ltd., of Derby , has a power pack contained in a haversack which is carried on the Constables back

I think that might be more modern, as tried by Derby police in 1966.

I posted this on another police thread. Seems lamps on helmets were in use in 1916 - a device created by an ambulance driver. Maybe they developed the model. Viv.

Glad you said "at the rear entrance to Rackhams" and not "the back of Rackhams" which had an entirely different meaning
