John Paul Cooper taught metalwork at the Birmingham Municipal School of Arts (1901-1906). He leased The Elms in Castle Bromwich, and had a private studio in Sheep Street. He received a commission from Birmingham Cathedral for two crosses and a pair of altar verses.
