This memorial was originally located in the Birmingham Gas Department offices. The monument was named "Allegory" and was dedicated to fighting men who died in WW1.it now stands in the grounds of Hollyfields Sports Centre.

Interesting that it's been taken in by Cadent, a gas distribution company. Unveiled in November 2022, it's second unveiling in 101 years. (Or might even have been it's third unveiling if there was a ceremony when it was moved to Hollyfields).

An interesting, and not unique story of how memorials can be lost and found. Another lost and found memorial journey (Erdington Postmen) is here : https://birminghamhistory.co.uk/for...n-heroes-remembered.43365/page-20#post-843619
