Here is a photo of girls at the Birmingham City Mission Refuge home for Girls (earlier described as fallen women) at 14 Noel Road. Its position can be seen in red on the 1913 map below in red. there are also reports from the press in earlier times. Despite the earlier name, the leaders seem to be (or claim to be) less condemnatory than some similar institutions
