Do you know her maiden name? I looked for a marriage but the only 1916 one I found for Clara Groom was to Joseph Bird. The other marriage was Arthur to a Clara Johnson but in 1914.

Arthur Thomas Bird army no 20853 in Coldstream Guards he died from wounds in Flanders 13 May 1918 his army records shows no wife.
In 1911 he was single living in 116 George Arthur Rd Saltley and was a porter Morther Elizabeth Bird father William Bird

Arthur Thomas Bird did marry an Elizabeth Johnson which I think the Charlotte Bird On Lichfield Rd is no right.

On the Soldiers' Effects records a wife is the recipient of the war gratuity. If the marriage was 1914 then it was Clara Johnson. Now we can look for a sister.

Glad to help. Do you happen to have the marriage cert for Arthur and Clara? Only Clara Johnson seems to be a common name on the 1911 census and it is proving difficult to locate the right one to see if she had any sisters. I wondered what the Father's name was on the cert.

George Samuel Johnson was the father of Clara
Found this out just

I'm
Wondering if it's easier to look at the moss brothers trees and see how or if they link in

At the moment baptism records do not show another daughter (sister to Clara).

These are from Ancestry (I subscribe). If you want the other records (as I did for Clara) then they are there. Even thought the churches are different I think they are all the same family - George's job was Engine Driver. Some records are also on Family Search for free - although not the baptism ones.

I had a quick look at the Moss' who played for the Villa.

Frank Moss snr married Katie Jackson 6 Aug 1916 Aston Brook

Frank jnr married Dorothy M Bower, registered Bham, Sep qtr 1938

Amos married Barbara Hancock, registered Worcester, Jun qtr 1945

Frank Moss snr was the son of George Henry Moss & Sarah Ann Sollis

None of the wives seem to have been married previously.

I suppose it depends which "moss bros". I even tried to see if Clara's mother, also Clara, had any sisters.

From 1911 census Clara's Mother had 12 children (my baptism record only shows 9) by 1911 8 were dead!! This might mean another sister that I have not found.

No way that's sad Shame so many babies died

Ok, , , geroge Samuel Johnson the father of Clara, , , had a sister called Alice Johnson.
There's a marriage between Alice Johnson and a Thomas moss. .
I wonder if Thomas moss had a brother frank
Gosh this is exciting

More info
Alice Johnson was daughter of William Johnson and Ellen burnham who were married 22/12/1867
Alice married Thomas moss who was born 1883.
So I'm wounderng If Thomas moss is the brother frank moss senior who was born 17:4 : 1895

Frank Moss' mother Sarah Ann Sollis was born c1871, so too young to be the mother of Thomas b1883,

George parents were William Johnson and Ellen burman they had 7 children ada Alice Ellen rose Sarah George and Sarah Jane. I found all this out when I used to belong to ancestry com X

That was from a cousin of my dads

The family who started Moss Bros, were not named moss but Moses.
The clothing retailer business was started by Moses Moses b 1821 and carried on by his sons Abraham, Lewis, and David.
Perhaps the brothers became Moss Bros.
