Hi, seeking any information on my grandfather William A (Albert?) Birch - b 1894/5 d 1962 married violet print 1929. Father was William J and mother Sarah J (Bannister). 1901 living at Hillfield Rd, 1911 living at Greswolde Rd, Sparkhill.

Any other information would be really welcome

in 1930 (if i have the right couple) they were living 37 college rd. sparkhill - just lists william and violet birch.
in 1935 william alfred and violet may birch living 17 sleaford rd. hall green
in 1939 as above
in 1945 as above
also in 1947, 1950 and 1955 as far as the online electoral rolls go at present.

in 1918 absent voters list. william alfred birch of 48 greswolde rd. sparkhill. 124775 Artificer M.G.C.
same again in 1919
in 1920 and 1922 at same address with parents william and sarah jane birch
in 1925 as above plus sidney john birch.
in 1927 as above plus lawrence birch. (only persons over 21 listed)

Wow Shera thanks very much! The addresses ties in as does his brothers names. How did you find out this info? I've been really fustrated trying to find out anything other than the census.
I wondered what he did in the Great War - not sure what an "Artificier" is, but I'll hunt that down on the Net.
Unfortunately there is absolutely nobody I know to ask, but thanks to you I now have an outline of his life.
