I can't find a thread for this building so here goes:
A while ago someone asked on another thread about some "old" buildings by Swanshurst Park.

These turned out to be Billesley Police station.
Sadly closed a while ago.

I didn't watch all of it. Bad enough seeing the site this morning to take the ics.
Loads of local objections - but oddly the Police had no objections.

Some objections raised

Concerns of the loss of the Police Station, the existing building should be upgraded.
History will be gone with the loss of the Police Building, which was left to the Policeover 100 years ago

The Police Station is a building of local pride.
 Loss of mature trees and impact on air quality.

The Police Station building is grade II listed building.

The existing building provides nests for swifts.
In addition, a petition of 150 signatures has been received regarding the loss of the PoliceStation building

I remember it when it was operational. We reported our missing dog there - many years ago when police actually patrolled their neighbourhood. I also remember when police horses were based there - often saw them walking past our house in Oxford Road. Always sad when an historic building goes.
