Hi and welcome Mary. Sadly registration did not start untill 1837 so you won't be able to get a marriage certificate. Have you looked at the IGI on familysearch for any info?

Hi Mary

Sorry but you will not be able to get a marriage cert, civil registration didn't start until 1837, the marriage will be recorded in the parish records only and the information they give very much depended on the minister. You would have to think yourself very lucky if any parents names appeared for the bride and groom.
Have just had a quick look on the IGI and found this --

I found Thomas and Ann on the 1841 and 1851 Census (let me know if you need those details) the 1841 never shows a birth place just whether in the census county, but shows Thomas as Biggerstaff and the 1851 just says Scotland. I can't find them after 1851.

Hi marhat

Had a look on the IGI for a birth and found this BUT it is a "submitted" record not a "extracted" from parish record, this means you should only use it as a guide and you must try and confirm it from the parish records --

Hi ya

Here is a prime example why you cannot trust submitted records on the IGI, on the birth for Thomas that i found it says "Death about 1890 Birmingham", this would put him well into his 80s so i had to look, i did find a death recorded in 1894 --

Thomas Bickerstaff, age 62, 2nd qtr 1894 Aston 6d 220

So this couldn't be Thomas b1806 but is more likely his son Thomas who was born abt 1832.

Had a look for his wife on IGI --
