Apologies. I made the attempt to get there, left home at 12.00 went to pick someone up from Small Heath, took me 45 minutes to travel 3/4 mile from the Coventry Rd to Watery Lane (Small heath bypass ) traffic at a standstill all around that area, thought I would try and divert through town, bad mistake. Decided to turn around and head back home. Finally got home at 2.50pm.

Many thanks to all those that turned up on such a Wintry day.
It was well worth it to see the kids faces when Santa managed to turn up.
Special thanks to Lyn, Wendy and Hilary for the super effort they made, and of course, the Prof for providing the venue.
Have a great Christmas and a cracking New Year and thank you all for your support throughout the year

Sorry Terry I was so busy posting pics I missed yours. I know the weather was awful Michael wanted to turn round but that was difficult on the M6. I was driving anyway so he had no choice:D. Seriously though it probably wasn't a good idea and we were all a bit nervous. Hope you are ok.:)

Thanks Wendy, I'm ok just disapointed I did'nt get there, still it seems I was'nt on my own. To be honest I think some peoples bad driving caused a lot of problems, but I dont want to go off topic.

Terry

Looks like a good turn out, given the appalling weather you have up there! :)

Now is some brave soul going to do a "left to right: front row, etc" on one of the group pics so that we who live many many miles away can put faces to usernames, pretty please?? :D

Maurice

Thanks for the pictures Wendy - I'm just sorry I couldn't make it .
I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Ian.

Thank you for posting the pictures - it is lovely to see you all :). It is such a shame more of us could not get there - silly weather:(. The room at the Unity Club looks lovely - hopefully we will get to go another time. I am glad that you all got home ok :)

I had a great time today. :) It was unfortunate that the arctic weather restricted so many from attending. If Paula, Tom and I, had known what it was like in Summer Lane (ironic street name when you consider the weather conditions?) I very much doubt that we would have attempted the journey? When we left Drayton Bassett their was a mild sprinkling of snow only to arrive at the venue where their was a heavy down pour of snow with a good six inches on the ground...........

As the photographs show, it was a wonderful afternoon shared with some absolutely marvelous people........... ;)

Merry Christmas everyone. Mabz

Back home safe n sound after collecting a young one on the way, and stopping the night :), well done to all who made it in the poor conditions , always next time :), again thanks to all who made it happen, was good to see you all :) :)

So happy to see many made it and had a good time. So sorry I couldn't be with you, the only way I could have made it was with a quick fly in and out but the weather would have messed that up anyway so I'm glad I didn't try. I'm sure there'll be other times when my wife and the weather is better.

Here in Belgium it's snowing again and celebrating our 16th day of snow, a new Belgian all-time record!

Merry Christmas to all you wonderful people, Graham XXX.

good to see you mabz and dave:) i really didnt expect anyone in these conditions..chaotic in kingstanding..some buses taken off ..others diverted..main roads full of slush and its going to freeze:cry:

graham a happy christmas and new year to you too.....have a good one and take care...

lyn:)

A nice afternoon in good company, I don't understand all the complaints about the weather. The walk home was great, by the time I got home I was sober and the wife wasn't any the wiser.

That is funny Phil :D But I bet you your wife did know - there are times when my hubby thinks he has got away with having a few drinks but I KNOW!!!

LOL ;):)

Glad you all had a great time at 'The Bash' only to be expected at a BHF do though ...

I too was at a 'Work Do' yesterday (18th) only we had the other problem, it was far too HOT 33 degrees Celsius outside and goodness knows how hot inside with all the guests packed into the room... Wish I could have sent some over to melt your snow away.:)

I really do feel sorry for Lyn, all the hard work she put in over last few weeks getting this Xmas Bash together and then we get this atrocious weather today of all days. Congratulations to you all that managed to get there.

Thank you for sharing your photos of the Xmas bash. I had been watching your weather hoping it would not spoil your day. At least some of you were able to make it. Glad you all enjoyed yourselves.

I'm glad I was able to get there yesterday. It was great to see familiar faces and meet new members. Always such nice people who attend these meets.
Lyn and the team put so much effort into organizing these events. A big "THANK YOU" from the bottom of my heart goes out to you all. Well done.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL

Chocks

good morning all....:) although the weather put a stop to so many of you attending the bash i would much rather have you all safe and sound than be involved in an accident or get stranded somewhere in the sticks:cry: i felt so sorry for ycat(sherrill) and her sister carole who had travelled from the wirral on friday and booked into a hotel for the weekend and i just hope they manage to get back ok....

raffle...although numbers were low and because some members had already bought raffle tickets we decided to go ahead with the first raffle (proceeds to forum funds) and along with erics gas st basin painting included all the other prizes that were donated....congratulations to frothy who won erics painting..:)actually nearly eveyone there won a prize:D

i have bought home with me erics other 2 paintings which were for our good causes raffle and they will be held over until the next meet up and we will have the good causes raffle then....:)

thanks again folks...hope to see more of you next time in our AFTER SNOW MEET UP...:D
