Beavon Clara abt 1870 - ?

Snowball

master brummie
Looking for any assistance available to trace the above lady. Clara Beavon gave birth to her son George on 7th May 1984 in Aston. From 1894 and working backwards I think she was the same Clara Beavon that was born in 1870, the fouth child of Edward and Elizabeth Beavon of Railway Terrace in Aston. Working forwards is more problematic, Clara vanished. I cannot find a death or a name change by marriage so what happened to her. It is possible that she died shortly after George was born because by about 1905 he was taken into care as an orphan. Any help on tracing Clara would be very much appreciated.

Regards, Snowball.

Re: Clara Beavon abt 1870 - ?

There is a marriage entry for a Clara Beavon June qtr 1906 in Aston to either Joseph Blunn or James Stanley.

Alhough George was taken into care "as an orphan" is it possible that Clara didn't want a future husband to know she had an illegitimate child?

Re: Clara Beavon abt 1870 - ?

There is a birth entry in 1912 JFM 6d 728 Aston for a Phyliss F M Blunn MMN BEAVEN
Might possibly be earlier births but MMN only available from about 1911

Edit: Horace William Blunn B1907 AMJ 6d 97

Re: Clara Beavon abt 1870 - ?

And the electoral roll has Joseph and Clara at 82 Clarendon St at least until 1945

Re: Clara Beavon abt 1870 - ?

Re the birth I posted earlier. At 82 Clarendon street Phyliss Florence May is registered in 1935

And a Horace William Blunn at above address in 1930

Re: Clara Beavon abt 1870 - ?

Absent voters list 1918 has Joseph Blunn 28330, Aux Mil Hosp, 9th Bn, R Lancs R

Re: Clara Beavon abt 1870 - ?

Clara Beavon birth registered 1st quarter 1871 Aston vol 6d page 342 (there is also another reference to same details except 'page 312' but on viewing the blurred scan I think it's 342).
I assume you mean 1894, not 1984 for George's birthdate.

I cannot find George (other than ones living with both parents) of the approximate age in 1911 census.

Re: Clara Beavon abt 1870 - ?

Thank you to all thoses who took the time to assist with their efforts and suggestions. Despite these efforts and suggestions I am not convinced that we are on the right track, and here is the reason for that :-
George Beavon was the original subject of my research. His birth certificate gave me his mother Clara Beavon and her address. Old wives tales, or family folklore (take your pick on which) also suggested that his mother's name was Clara Beavon. His surname was the same as his mother because she was unmarried at the time of his birth, have a copy of the certificate that confirms this. After his birth George became something of a street child. He was eventually picked up by the police and from the courts he was handed over to The Middlemore Home in St. Luke's Road. In 1907 George was packed off to canada under the Child Emigration Program. The records that the Birmingham City Library hold concerning George Beavon are supposed to state that his mother "was deceased" - They also state that his father was in the Aston Workhouse Infirmary and paralysed. If George was born in 1894 (not 1984 - sorry about that !) and Clara had died before he was sent to Canada in 1907, the big question is still what happened to Clara ? This is a long response and I appologise for that, I could have made it even longer so your lucky !!!!!:D
