Bear Yard, Bull Street - Information Req'd

Does anyone know where Bear Yard, Bull Street was in the 18th century. My 4x Gt Grandfather Robert Tibbins traded as a hair seller according to quite a few trade directories. Later he became a hair dresser. What would a hair seller do actually, make wigs?
Apologies if I have posted in the wrong place

Re: information on street

I have been unable to find it on any map or in any directory. However Showell states that Old Bear Yard was close to the junction of union Passage with Bull St, and was hte premises of a dealer in dogs, rabbits, pidgeons and other pets, who kept a big brown bear which was used for bear baiting
