as most of you know i am not always a fan of the style of new buildings however i have to say i do like the plan for the clubs new stadium especially the reason behind the 12 chimneys..couple of reports below

An interesting plan for the stadium. Good to see an atempt to reflect the history of the area in the design. Uncharacteristic of new stadiums.

It is nice that they've attempted to reflect the industrial heritage in the design but to me it looks like someone designed a stadium and then someone else came along and added the chimneys afterwards. Don't like it.

And when are the Blues likely to get 62000?

my post was just about the design of the building as it looks to me like the old meets the new type of thing but thinking about the capacity no doubt if the ground was used for world cup and other large footie competitions then a ground capacity of 62000 is possible..also i have no doubt that pop concerts will be held there..its also good to read that they intend to incorporate the memory bricks from the old ground of past/present fans into the new stadium so that they will not be forgotten..
