Bates Herbert Frederick (Tiddly)

Tiddly bates was a hairdresser in Summer Lane. He was born in 1882. Attended King Edward's Grammar School. Does anyone out there know more anything about Tiddly I believe a book was published about Summer Lane, which mentioned him.

married 39 yrs. had had 16 children but 5 had died

in 1920 herbert frederick and ellen elizabeth bates were living 84 summer lane
they were listed there through to 1939 (in 1939 gertrude bates was also listed)
in 1945 herbert frederick bates is listed alone at 28 bradfield rd. perry barr
