Balsall Street

knowlegable brummie
Hello everyone,
Was Balsall St the street today known as Sherlock St?

I have found a photo of John Beardsworth's house, the Bham horse dealer in the 19th Century. And the photo read "Balsall St". So I was wondering if Balsall St was the thoroughfare between Cheapside and Moseley St known as Sherlock St until 1974?
Any idea?
By the way, does anyone have a photo of Cave's Repository that I could use for a Youtube video?
Thanks a lot,
Joseline.

No, Balsall St ran from the junction of Cheapside and Sherlock St to the junction of Bromsgrove St and Moat Row. Now beneath the wholesale markets I think. Map from 1839...
