baker William rose

WILLIAM ROSE BAKER was a common male name in our family from early 1800's to beginning of 1900's. I have tried to find out where ROSE came from as a middle name especially for a male - has anyone any idea where I can look for information? Thanks

Re: William rose baker

Hello lyndcy.
Middle names were often mothers maiden names or even grandmother's maiden names. See if you can find Rose as a surname in your family anywhere. My gt grandfather was Robert Brewster Caldecott I thought this very posh but then found his mothers maiden name was Sarah Brewster......good fun though!
