The Aston Villa Old Stars team was established in 1960 and has played between twenty and twenty-five fundraising matches in every year since throughout the UK, in Ireland, the Channel Islands, Cyprus, Holland, France, Spain and Germany.

AVOS 50th Anniversary ‘showcase’ fixture
This match will take place at 11.30am on Sunday 13th December 2009 at the Alexander Stadium, Perry Barr, Birmingham to celebrate 50 years of AVOS fundraising fixtures.
The match will be between AVOS versus Midlands All-Star X1 comprising former professionals drawn from Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City football clubs and the team will be managed by prominent radio presenter Tom Ross.
Please come along and support the players.

The Aston Villa Old Stars team has helped to raise over £4 million for charitable and deserving causes and they are, without doubt, the leading former players team in the UK.
The current Manager of the Aston Villa Old Stars team is former Aston Villa & Northern Ireland international centre-half Chris Nicholl who in 2008 became only the 6th manager in the teams 50 year history. Previous managers were Leslie Smith, Harry Kenning, Stan Arthurs, Dennis Jackson and John Chambers.
Please feel free to bring along cameras and autograph books, the players will be only too happy to have pictures taken with you and sign autographs. Admission is by program (£5.00)
