Aston Road

This was the view looking towards Gosta Green in 1934. I think the view would have been taken from Pritchett Street, although the road system has so radically changed at this point it’s hard to tell. The middle building has, I think #265 written on the thin, oblong sign. The modern Streetview is, I think, roughly the position although not 100% certain. Viv.

From looking at some old maps and Kelly's Directory:

No.265 is on Aston Road. It was occupied by Nathaniel Budd & Son, Rick Cloth Maker, in 1934. The building to the left of N. Budd & Son's is the public library which is on Gosta Green, at the junction with Aston Road, Legge Street and Fisher Street.

No.265 was the last address at the southern end of the west side of Aston Road.

Pritchett Street was 3 to 4 blocks north of Gosta Green.

Hope this helps

Here's a 1910 view of the library from Gosta Green with Aston Road on the right and Legge Street on the left.
