Thanks Mark, I think that shop is either No. 44 or No. 46, most likely No. 46.

Annie's first husband was Bertram Frederick Jelfs. He was in the Coldstream Guards, died 8 Sep 1944.

And looking at the 1939 register (post #4) the lady (Emily E Wilks) at the same address as Eli is his mother.

Interestingly she was born Emily Elizabeth Wilkes and married James Joseph Scriven. James died in 1916 and Emily then married Richard Samuel Wilks (no e).

Thank you it seems to get more complicated - |Annie Jelfs married Eli Scriven 18.12.48
I have now found out that Eli was born on 8.1.1899 and his father was John James Scriven mother Emily E. Scriven address 22 Court 9 Hospital street
Eli died 6.11.1960 which is my husbands father (wife Annie) at time of death he lived at 46 Park Lane Aston my husband was only 4 years old I shall get onto ancestry or find my past sites next week
I had managed to trace
Emily Elizabeth age 44 married
Richard Samuel wicks (eletrician) age 54 both widowers in July 1920 both living at 2 Ashted place
Emily died age 86
Thank you all for help
Now going to try and trace back on husband Mom Annie- grandparents
etc much appreciated info

Annie Bustin's parents were William Henry Bustin, b1877 Tipton and Sarah Ann Stafford, b1877 South Kilworth

Annie's grandparents...

William Henry Bustin's parents were Richard Joseph Bustin, b1853 Oxford and Mary Jane Busby (possibly Bush), b1856 Tipton

Sarah Ann Stafford's parents were Charles Stafford, b1846 South Kilworth and Phoebe Willey, b1849 South Kilworth

Annie great grandparents...

Richard Joseph's parents were John Bustin, b1816 Oxfordshire and Fanny Edgar, b1821 Chipping Norton

Mary Jane Bush's (no Busby found) parents were George Bush, b1821 Wiltshire or Ireland and Ruth Rollason b1826 Dudley (not too sure)

Charles Stafford's parents were Thomas Stafford, b1809 South Kilworth and Sarah Earp, b1809 South Kilworth

Phoebe Willey's parents were Thomas Willey, b1796 Gilmorton and Mary Hefford, 1819 South Kilworth

One interesting thing to note is that Mary Jane Bustin (wife of Richard) was not living with him in 1911, she is living with a Frederick Tuckwell. And in 1921 she is still living with him but listed as Tuckwell (no marriage, death registered as Bustin).

Hi once again a big thank you the information is great and has really helped I am going to look into what they all did to earn living/survive and see if I can trace any of Annie Bustin's brothers or sisters. Thank you all it so appreciated

Thank you for giving me a helping start in my quest master brummie. - update on the mystery
Richard Joseph Bustin
Died on 25 February 1917 Royal Welsh Fusiliers SUCRERIE MILITARY CEMETERY, COLINCAMPS
(my husbands great great Grandad )- we are now slowly building a history for my husband of family we now have pictures of Richard thanks to the Royal British Legion and the records etc. Thanks to you all who sent me off to solve the mystery
Fredrick Tugwell lived with Richard and Mary Jane with their family along with his son and daughter they were down as Boarders. I can only imagine that she married him after Richard was killed in the war. That is my next investigation along with trying to find Annie Bustin brother and sisters.

I'm not sure if one of is getting confused or not.

The Richard Joseph Bustin, husband of Mary Jane (Busby/Bush) died in 1932.

They had a son, also called Richard Joseph Bustin and it looks as if it is him that died in the war. So a great uncle, the brother of your husband's grandfather (William Henry) I think.

Richard Joseph Bustin, your husband's great grandfather (I think you have one too many greats) would have been in his 60s at the start of the war.

Mary Jane, your husband's great grandmother, doesn't seem to have married Frederick Tuckwell and died before Richard in 1928 (listed as Bustin).

Thank you my mistake having same name did not tie in dates I am new to all this but with all this help will go back and retrace thank you once again.
