If only these children could come back what a story they would tell.

Are those desks the type that turn up at the front so you could get out?
 
hi wendy, could you please tell me where on aston lane was the school, the only place i can think of is by the church at the birchfeild road junction. kind reguards sidwho
 
I have no other information this is an old postcard. I scanned it on a high resolution which brought up the chalk board on the right which says Aston Lane. Thanks for the photo and info another mystery solved. I wonder if the school changed it's name later.
 
Hi, Wendy, according to the Astonbrook through Aston Manor site it was Aston Lane until 1921 and[TABLE="align: center"]

[TD]Aston. Aston National Sch. (sometimes called Aston Infants' National Sch.) opened 1855 or 1856. B only by 1882. Reorganized 1882 for G and I only. Transferred to Aston Sch. Bd. as Alfred St. Bd. Sch. Became B dept. of Aston Lane Bd. Sch. 1886 and used as part of that sch. until 1921 (see Aston Hall Cty. Primary Sch.). Building used 192239 by Vicarage Rd. Council Sch.(21) and from 1953 by Manor Park Cty. Primary Sch.(28)[/TD]
