Something I hadn’t expected to find along Aston Lane is/was George Ellison’s Sports Ground. Even more surprising is a programme advertising a motor-cycle polo event ! Viv.
Viv’s pictures above feature the Shanklin surgery, and the below is the current street view. It seems to have been associated with the medical profession since at least 1914. The address is 190 Aston Lane, but the first mention of Shanklin House is around 1940.
