Hi Inverness On

I can tell you that adjacent to the corner of Lord Street on Dartmouth Street there was an infants school. Then just the other side of Dartmouth Street opposite Lord street stood St Lawrence's church in Love Lane.

As for schools and churches near Frankfort Street there was St Mathias's church with a school next door at the junction of Farm Street and Wheeler Street. There was a Presbyterian Chapel on New John Street and on Hospital Street the one way past Frankfort Street north I think was a Baptist Chapel and in the other direction was a school which I think was junior and infants.

I will take look and see what photos I can come up to match these locations.

I can make a start with these two images of St Lawrence's that was on the junction of Love Lane and Dartmouth Street just across from Lord Street, I never saw this church as I believe it was demolished in the late 40's or early 50's. Anyway it was gone long before I ever got myself around that way. Sorry about the poor quality of the photos but there are not a lot of photos of this church about.

I don't suppose you have any more information such as religious denomination of the school or church you are looking for because it would be of a great help in locating what you are looking for. There trouble is both Aston & Nechells were densely populated areas with many schools and churches, also people especially young pupils would happily walk much further to school than expected to today.
