Looking for Arthur Burt B1825 who may have emingrated to Canada in 1850.
William Burt his father had an Ironmongers shop. Maybe in Edgbaston?
His mother was Mary Drinkwater B abt1789.

Arthur was baptised on the 11th March 1825 in St. Phillips.

The 1851 census shows him living with his parents William and Mary - plus brothers George, Arthur, Edmund and Charles and sister Julie. The address was Hagley Road and his father was a Hardware Merchant. So Arthur was still in the UK at the date of the 1851 census. (That's if we have the right Arthur!)

Sorry but I got that date wrong. He was actually born on the 11 March 1825, baptised on the 9 August 1825. Married Ann Jones Bird on the 8 July 1852

It looks like Arthur was living in Perth, Ontario in 1881 with wife, 2 sons and 4 daughters. He is listed as an agent.

There's also a death for an Arthur Burt 30 Mar 1898 in Brant, Ontario. Birth is given as England 1825 but that's it. Death for wife is 27 Apr 1892 Clinton, Ontario.

Deaths for his 2 of his children are listed in Ontario - Arthur William 9 Jul 1931 and Fanny Mary (Scudamore) 11 Oct 1933.

Hi Sue and MWS
Thank you for the information on Arthur Burt 1825. This is very much appreciated. From the details you have given me on his listing in Ontario together with his wife and children I believe you have found a positive connection.
Many thanks to you both!!
