Anderton Road grocers shop Sparkbrook

Here is a grocers at 187 Anderton Road, on the corner of Sydenham Road in the 1920s. The shop was run by William H.Highfield from about 1910, having previously been Frazier Bros, grocers. The name Highfield can just be faintly seen on the upper fascia. It went under than name till 1932.
(Note: Previous to 1round 1903 the shop was numbered no 149)

Today, it's like this. The old Anderton Road sign on the wall has gone, but the old Sydenham Road one is still there.
