An exciting (and free!) event to commemorate the end of World War Two in the Far East, BMI, Saturday 13th December, 11.30 am to 3.30 pm

There is a unique opportunity to attend a question and answer session with Don Grant. As a youngster, living in pre war China, he was interned by the Japanese. He survived and eventually moved to Birmingham. His experiences and memories are fascinating, very similar to the novel and film Empire of the Sun!
This is followed by a screening of the critically acclaimed documentary film The Sinking of the Lisbon Maru. This was a ship commandeered by the Japanese to transport Allied POW's in 1942. Tragically it was torpedoed and sunk by an US submarine.
The flyer gives more information and details of the Eventbrite link.
All are welcome.
