Hi
Any ideas please
Researching my family I have discovered a Cousin who died in WW1 Albert Henry Francis b 1896.My gran always told me she had a bro who died in the War.Researching revieled he was a cousin to her.I don't think she ever knew this fact as Gran was b 1900.I am expecting the 1911 census to show Albert living with her and the Rutter family in Aston.I am now trying to find Alberts brother Jonathan b 1898 Aston.I'v searched the death and marriages and he is no where to be found or in CWGC.I have down loaded a Medal Card Royal Warwickshire reg 300111 PTE Jonathan Francis Birmingham.not knowing if this is the same Person Idiscovered a record in " Find My past.com".In National Roll of the Great War.for a Private J Francis R.A.M.C Saying he join in 1917 and was attatched for the remainer of the war to the American Army.He was engaged on various important duties and was still serving in 1920.
The address 65 Foundry rd Winson Green B'ham.
I have search the 1901 census for another Jonathan Francis but there is only 1 which r my Ancestors living with his parents aged 3yrs in Aston transcribed Frances.I know I need to connect him with the Address in Winson Green some way.Is there any way to find out what happened to Jonathan while attached to the American Army in 1920?.

Dennygirl info you posted seems a bit mixed up if you take the following info into consideration
Francis M.J. Private R.A.M.C 59 Foundry Rd Winson Green
Francis J. Private R.A.M.C. 65 Foundry Rd Winson Green
Francis C. Gunner, Royal Field Artillery 65 Foundry Rd. Winson Green
(The above 3 taken from the book National Roll of the Great War)

Dennygirl....The National Roll Call of the Great War.....does not include the men and boys from the Aston areas.....I would say that the J Francis you are seeking is not the one who was living with his parents in Aston Lane in 1901....I can also tell you that Jonathan in 1920 is living still with his parents Albert Henry and Martha Ellen at 276 Witton Road.

Jonathan Francis

Hi John,
Many thanx for that info.May I ask where u got this info from? The address is correct.I have this address from his brother Albert In Memory cert off CWGC.I would like to view this info.I am going to visit B'Ham Library Saturday. Please can u guide me if possible to where I can look this record up?I am very relieved to know Jonathan was alive and well in 1920.

Denny.....if you go to the local studies floor (6th) I think)...the electoral roll books are located far side of the floor....there is a index of all the streets/roads etc in the on the first shelf.....doesn't contain any names...just streets etc....also the books start from 1920...there is two for each year....spring and autum...I am not sure when the two books for each year stopped.....I will attach the page containing you Frances family to this posting.
