Alfred Davis

Hope someone can advise. Don't think it's research. Alfred Davis died 1907. Second entry down.
I'm researching my gt grandfathers place of rest. With your help, it was Yardley. However I recall phoning Yardley Cemetery twice. I was given 2 different answers. He had a gravestone, told by one person. Then another person said he had no grave lol, so commoner. Left it at that. Never was really happy so I got a copy today.
Just hoping someone has some knowledge on the record. Otherwise could be waiting for weeks.
Thanks for any help and apologise if posted in wrong place, regards, mbluesky.

I would read that as a burial in Section C with grave number 26181.
The section C gives us a dilemma as maps only show numbered sections. This was discussed on the Yardley Cemetery thread I think.

Thank you, hopefully correct. Good to see you, plodding on like most. Always appreciate your advice.

On your scan there appear to be 4 unrelated burials (including Arthur's) all in grave no. 26181, so possibly points to it being a common grave maybe.

Unfortunately, I think you could be correct. It is a public grave. Thank you MWS. Why originally told he had a grave, no idea. Didn't spot that, so more than likely. Strange because he was a Master Barber. Had 3 barbers shop In Brum. Things do go wrong. Only just obtained my grandfather's and gt grandmothers resting place. She remarried, so strange same cemetery. Brandwood End, looks like my grandfather will be the same. Thank you.

The second entry down can't be your Alfred Davis then because he is listed as in infant.

There are 2 deaths reg. for an Alfred Davis Dec qtr 1907 Bham, one aged 0 and one aged 72. So that maybe where there is some confusion.

The Alfred Davis, aged 72, appears to be buried at Witton.

Thank you, probably never no. His address when he died wasn't poor. Bereavement services cannot confirm the position of grave.
The section has changed from alphabetical to
numerical. TL Alfred Davis section 26 as we know grave 26181. It is a public grave.I have never checked probate. Thanks again, good to see you.

Not sure if you noticed the edit to my previous post, the Alfred Davis aged 72 was buried at Witton not Yardley.
