G'day Keiron,
Carl Chinn told a very nice story of The Albion.
His mom lived nearby, and when she was a little girl she pined for her young uncle, who was in the navy(the war was on),so the navy granted him compassionate leave to see her.
He went in the Albion on his way home and someone brought Carls mom in,sat her on the bar and she sang "You Went Away"to him...lovely.
You wil have to ask Prof.Carl Chinn if I got it right.

Hi Ray
I'll have to ask Carl about this story. I did once chat about pubs with him and he seemed to feel a lot of nostalgia for the Albion but I thought he was referring to the one in Cato Street North - but I could be wrong. This was a couple of years ago.

Cheers
Kieron

Hello Kieron,
It was the one on the corner of Aston Rd. and Whitehouse St.his mom lived in Whitehouse St.as did a lot of his family members.
By the way the Albion is still there.
