Albert Ensor, Marston Green Cottage Homes

proper brummie kid
hi i am wondering if anybody can help me . im trying to find out if albert ensor on 1891 census is my relative. it is a bit complicated as albert father had various surnames ensor/ ainsworth/ hainsworth. we know that alberts father stephen ainsworth 1836 died before 1881 and his mother we think died after 1881 census. there was also two other younger children minnie ,and eliza . we think that on 1891 census he was at marston green cottages home coleshill
.thanks
kathy james

Have you traced all his brothers and sisters in the 1891 census to see if he was with any of them?

I don't know if this might help...

...there's a list of records that might be available.

There's a Bert Ensor in the 1901 census living in Bristol, a boarder of Thomas Osgood (his elder brother, Stephen and his wife are also living in Bristol).

thanks for your reply. there was six children altogether , walter benjamin , stephen william and charles which we know of in later census. its the others minnie, eliza and albert apart from the 1891 the cottages which had albert ensor on it . it is confusing because the family name was ainsworth but on marriage certificate it was ensor. this is confirmed by stephen william ainsworth birth certificate which names his mom as emma spilsbury but when we looked at marriage was ensor. no record of minnie, albert and eliza on siblings census. however in 1930 electrol roll minnie islisted with albert ainsworth in long street sparkbrook
thanks

Names can be tricky when they can't read or write, it relies on the person recording the information and different people can hear/spell a name differently.

There's an Elisa Ensor b1875 listed as a servant, living in Edgbaston in 1891.

Also in 1911 there's a Minnie Ensor of the right age living in Erdington with the Marples family (servant maybe).

thanks thats brilliant. could you possilby send me names of head had a look could not find them,
