Achilles Sierres

Does anyone remember a dry cleaning company called something like "Archie Sares" My Aunt worked for them and used to bring me a model to build, you cut the pieces from a flat carboard pack which was printed with a signwritten van? It would have been about 1955-1962

Hi bilsat, it was Achilles Sierres. We had them down in Bath when I was a kid. They had black writing on a bright yellow background above their shop windows. More than that I don't know and only remember them because of the 'funny' name. Would be interesting to know the reason for that name.

It was the name of the founder, an immigrant from an eastern block country. The Head Office was in London--at one time they had the contract for all the roller towels in every Post Office and Telephone Exchange
