Could some one please help me find Richard John Yates born 1879/1880 on the 1918 Absent Voters List, possible address Farm Street, Aston, Birmingham.6.
At the top in red on the first page of the attestation papers someone has written "Totally Unfit" (no reason given) and then also in red 24 over 1 over 1900 (sorry don't now how to present this as it is written but for "over" read an underscore as in fractions) Perhaps this then means he didn't get to serve in WW1?
Thanks Suzanne and Mike for your help, Mike I don't think the Richard Yates you found is the right one, trying to match up my great uncle with the chap who wrote the postcard on the 9th September 1914 from Woolwich Barracks that Mayfield bought at a boot fair and posted on the site.
Thanks for your efforts anyway Mike, perhaps someone else may find him, I am trying different angles to confirm what has already been found out about him.
