In answer to your question re the Warwick Workhouse, yeat this was the Abraham I am researching, he was there at the age of 13
I have contacted Warwick and thee tell me
" Warwick Union Workhouse Records
Thank you for your email of the 2nd October 2010 concerning the records of the above Workhouse.
I am afraid we only hold registers of births and deaths in the workhouse from 1848 and records of Admissions and Discharges from 1914. Earlier records have not survived.
I am sorry that we cannot be of further assistance on this occasion."
So we may never know why he was there at all.
It is believed his father was also Abraham Hince c1808 but this now means searches through parish registers, which \I am not up to speed with yet.
