My wife's grandmother, Lizzie Oswell, ran a coffee house here from about 1918 to just after World War Two, taking it over from her uncle, William Rowe. It was situated just over the railway/canal bridge from the Bridge Inn, opposite Monument Lane railway station and just before the junction with Shakespeare Road. I was wondering if anyone has a photograph of it.

Such great pictures and son boyhood memory for me the shop which as the black van out side had a small fire and then they closed down
Around the 1956/7 period and I also re all them demoing that block and of the ledsam street and the surrounding streets
And eventually all the way back to broad street thanks again any more guys best wishes astonian

Carol either street hold as lot of good days I presume the one with the Ladywood project company was the very top of eiyer street
With the for sale across the red well that was a scrap yard recycling bussines and we used to stand directly across from there every night doing habit of snogging
A girl from st marks street named Maureen when we was young she sees my younger brother quite often he lives in kings heath and she lives up the may pole
And always asked how am I am still goes on about me but I have not seen her in many years but she says to my brother I am the man for her ah
I suppose she still have the dream thou I am told she is married now but we are all old pensioners now aren't we
Such memory we can only reflect still we all do don't we .
