6/123 Sherbourne Road, Birmingham

Hi,

I've recently started researching my family and discovered my Grandparents, father and Aunt lived at 6 back of 123 Sherborne Street, Birmingham in 1951.

Just wondered if anyone had a map of the street / housing?

Maybe even remember them?

They were:-
Joe and Caroline Connell
Peter and Sandra Connell. (kids).

Thanks

Jim

Are you sure that it is not 6 back 123 Sherbourne Road? The 1950 map of Sherborne St shows a factory where this would have been. But at Sherbourne road there is such a house. In 1950 and 1952 it was occupied by Joseph & Caroline Connell

Very easy mistake to make.
Below is a map c 1950 showing 6 back Sherbourne Road in blue
map c1950. Showing 6 back 123 sherbourne Road.jpg

I am researching my family history & came across probate for Sydney Bayliss of 6 Sherbourne Rd in 1951, so am confused about the connels being at 6 Sherbourne Rd, unless Granmom left there just after paps death. The Bayliss family had a Paper reclaim yard somewhere in Birmingham but not sure where, can anyone help?. Nope Ronald ( son of Sydney) & Betty Bayliss were at 6 Sherbourne Rd till the 1970's.

6 Sherbourne Road and 6 back of 123 are two completely different houses
The map in post #4 has 6 back of 123 marked. If you travel along Sherbourne Road to the the left you will find number 6. (Under the "s" of the word Sherbourne).
6 back of 123 means it is in a courtyard behind house 123.
Hope that makes sense.
