1952 - Hockley to Rednal

I realise this is a bit of a niche question! I'm doing some research, and I'm trying to find out which bus(es) would someone have taken in 1952 if they'd needed to get from Hockley to Rednal? Or would it have been a tram? And what route would have been likely to take? I'm not from Birmingham. Thank you!

Most of the 'Main Road' services from Hockley terminated in front of Snow Hill station on Colmore Row. The bus to Rednal started from right across town in Navigation Street. A long walk. The trams that were replaced by the buses used the same terminii.

Thank you! Do you know roughly when the buses replaced the trams?
