As we are told we are all to suffer soon , it is interesting to see memories of the cut backs of 1922, as seen from 1972 (from Ev. Mail 20.12.72)

Thanks for those cuttings, Mike. An interesting account of those times. I wasn't aware that there were such pay cuts quite a while before the "great depression".
 
Fascinating reading Mike. So sad that the abandoned baby only merited a small paragraph. I hope the present cuts won't just affect the working classes....it's always the less well off that suffer.
