i must admit i thought youd got a very clever family. most of mine are just ag labs!!

they all signed their names as well which is highly unusual :taste

hope you inherited the clever genes :)

This is a first for me,
most of mine have been ag labs or brass casters.

no problem at all. i enjoy looking up my st martins records

josiah dineley of the parish peopleton in the county of worcester, bachelor, and mary lucas of this parish, spinster

8th may 1784 . they both signed their names

and so did the witnesses again....sarah dineley and moses "jennens?"

as its an unusual name there are only two other records for dineley, both burials. they are
ann dineley (widow) abode bristol st. bur. 29 jan 1826 aged 55 yrs.
mary ann dineley (spinster) abode saltley bur. 22 may 1832 aged 28 yrs.

just in case it helps in your search ;)

Can I repeat my self...WOW

Mary Ann (Saltley) is in the line too)
Just need to connect her as this is where it gets difficult...

Mary Matilda Dineley c1863
parents...William Dineley & Mary Fricke...she marries in our line to William Fellows 1889, possibly St Martins as all I have is Aston at the moment.

The they have 3 children
Elsie Dineley Fellows 1891
Rowland Dineley Fellows (born Saltley) 1892
Jessie Dineley Fellows 1897

Rowland was in the army until 1920, and have him on a polling list in Yardley still with parents William & Mary.

All fascinating.

1861 census with very smart handwriting, shows Josiah and family living in Yorkshire.
Still with the inland revenue.
Wife's name Emma but have Mary Lucas taken from IGI.

i can see whats happened with the above 1861 census.

in 1856 apr-jun there is a death of mary dineley in yorkshire 9a 65

then in 1859 jan-mar there is a marriage of josiah dineley to emma rowell in thirsk yorkshire 9d 585 :)

there is even a dineley road in peopleton worc. i would think you may be able to find the will of josiah dineley or some of the other members of the family.

if you "search the archives" on the national archives site theres loads of items to do with dineley, peopleton including a will of john dineley 1791. you can purchase any of these items from them if you are interested.

i think you may have to change the mothers of some of josiah dineleys children. his first wife mary lucas must have died and he married a mary galloway at calverley parish church on 14th sep 1834. she must have been the mary that died in 1856 and emma must have been his 3rd wife!

the info is on the site "calverley parish church records: marriage 1831-1836"

thanks Shera
just could not help but take a peek just before dinner, will look into that when I have a moment tomorrow.
Found tons of info on Ancestry and indeed a tree with rellies on.
But the tree owner has not been online for 6 months it says so just got fingers crossed and hope that they write back.
I found there too at least 3 generations of Josiahs's.....
de ja vu.......again
