Steve should have been a top star. I first saw him at the Yew Tree in the early 60s and he became a regular at the Cresta, the Hunters Moon and Kings at Great Barr.
I do miss the vibrant Birmingham cabaret scene of yesteryear...
Barry Herrick would be another name that might ring some bells...
My Gt Grandfather was Thomas Young born about 1855 according to the 1911 census he was born in Birmingham. I sent for a birth certificate for one Thomas Young that I found at the right age but I'm unsure if it is him. Born at 5 Centre Row Birmingham.
He is a bit of a mystery really...
