I wonder if that is why the current island (roundabout) under the M6 (Spaghetti Junction) is called Salford Circus.

Missing Family members - Wheeler / Baker

I also obtained a copy of a death cert for Lily Wheeler in 1952 and this shows her as the wife of Charles Longford Wheeler age 74 - so this would match to the DOB. The informant is stated as W E Davis, Son in Law, but I have no one with that name.

No, I haven’t got a birth certificate for Lily. This information came from my uncle, so a trusted source. However I was planning to recap my sources, when I find time. at one point I thought that Charles’ wife was one and the person. But although the date of birth is similar there is no match

This is a list of what I have checked so far, plus I have added this query to the Family Tree Forum (FTF) I have requested a number of different copies of death certs, in the vain hope of getting a 'hit', but so far no luck. These are the ones I have tried; 1913 - Qtr M - Reading - 02c - 435...

Missing Family members - Wheeler / Baker

Okay, I'm going to take a shot at resurrecting this query as I am still no further forward in finding out what happened to Lily. I have paid for a number of potential death certificates, but they have all come back with a different spouse, except one (copy attached). Not sure how to...

    Royal George Hotel. Tower Road

I have just found a link (http://www.astonbrook-through-astonmanor.co.uk/Pubs.html ) that shows a Royal George but at Park Road. A GOOGLE search also shows a Royal George Hotel ( https://www.hotelroyalgeorge.co/en-GB/contact-us ) at Garrison Lane. Not sure if these are red herrings!

    Royal George Hotel. Tower Road

Thanks Mikejee. It's on a marriage certificate as the residence and her profession is barmaid. Could these mean that her father owned / managed it? He is shown as deceased and a coal hewer (below ground) Thanks
