    Hi Neighbour! Just had a look on Google Map. Our house still there, last one before new ones start by a bus stop on other carriageway. Went on a school trip to BXL(1958) so I know what you mean about the aroma. We would walk down Wharfdale Rd to catch train into Brum from the station at Tyseley...

    I too lived in Stockfield Rd 1960's-70's. No. 138, most of the time I worked at the nearby Wilmot Breeden factory. I particularly remember "the open all hours shop" Mrs. Thorley's which was opposite to Mansfield Rd.
