    i used to supply the meat for the garry owen club i owned the butchers shop next to creswells the shoe shop across the road from the club. they always complained that i cut their T bone steaks to thick.

    i worked with john fewtrell for years as a butcher. he bought a butchers in harborne but got to used to the night life at his brother eddie cedar club. the club named because of all the cedar timber decor. any idea what became of johnny fewtrell.

    i met walter smith several times buying at the meat market. butchers changed jobs quite often so maybe i did, no one comes to mind who worked for him. a very successful and clever meat retailer,as was HE HAYNES who i worked 5yrs for. ever heard of H.J.LUDLOW. who had a shop in harborne lane.?

    hi i used to own a butchers shop a few shop down from small heath park about 1970.my how the area has changed not all for the best. i moved to australia 1971 had more shops but now retired 1998.not to many butchers shop around now.
