Love fox gloves: here's a pic of some in our garden, and I took this pic of a regular visitor earlier this year, foxy steals the pears I leave out for the blackbirds.

Ah lovely, these baby wrens have hatched in my son's goat's house, 5 of them!

Who remembers hours of fun skipping together, we didn't have dad helping out though just tied the rope aroung a lamp post.

We were so lucky to see them on the 10th May, these are some pics my children kids took on their mobiles.

Thanks for your reply Cosmicintrovert. The old couple at 75 were probably mum's brother Leslie and his wife Edna. I didn't know them as mum didn't keep in touch when we moved away. No phones etc then and mum wasn't one for letter writing and definitely no extra money for bus journeys. Intresting...

I've found an address of 12 Park Street for James Burns on his pension record (Worcester 10th Battalion). Awarded to his wife Annie Eliza Burns dob 24.6.1860. He is also on the CWGC with a different address, here's the snip

He was baptised at St Josephs in 1897. A little further information found on FMP: His death was registered as Stanley Hickie in March quarter 1916 at Gateshead, and there is a headstone. Also this snip says he died of pneumonia, which can lead to heart failure.
