    1921 Census.

Hi All, For me, I feel that access to the 1921 Census has been set at a high cost. The 1911 Census platform let us buy credits and with those credits, we could see the Census data and the document together. To pay £2.50 to see that data and then another £3.50 to view the document, a total of...

    Girling Brakes - Tyseley

Many thanks. My Grandmother's name was Lily Cheshire. I suspect she may have retired around 1977. I remember going to her leaving party at the factory. I remember the reception telephone room where she worked. It was a row of ladies sat on seats with a board in front of them which had the plugs...

    Girling Brakes - Tyseley

Great Picture and thank you. This is for sure how I remember that building. I also remember the transporters with the Rovers and Land Rovers from Solihull. I think they were driven to Tysley to be loaded onto trains.

Hi LadyLinda, Sorry for the late reply. Busy time. I think you hit the nail on the head with that one :) Yes it ties up with a Henry Hodges Census record 1871 children with the children in 1881 with Alice on in Manchester. So one can think that Alice Mum Maria was maried to Henry at...

    Bassett - (Aston 1800's)

Ok to Sum up. Alice Bassett married to John Speed, which is correct. IGI has father as Henry Hughes. Census 1881, I found a Alice Hodges with a father Henry both born Birmingham. Age for Alice is correct based on birth Jul - Sept 1873. So was Alice adopted? John
