    Hi all. I lived at 10/32 Clifton road from birth 1943 until age 16 leaving for Pelsall in 1958. Our house was a back to back situated in the block that separated Park Road down to Upper Thomas St. at the top of the road we had a butchers shop and opposite a leather shop (shoes, handbags etc)...

    Birmingham Childrens' Homes in the 1950s

    Not relevant to Birmingham homes but I lived in Aston and after an illness was packed off to Langdon Court in Wembury near Plymouth, must have been arranged by Brum NH, would have been about 1952/3, don’t have any details other than hated the place. Anyone else go there?

    The chippie in Upper Thomas Street just above Saunders chemist was owned by the Dilloway family in the 50s at least as far as 1958, I went to UTS school with the son David Dilloway I myself lived lived at 10 /32 Clifton road from 1944 until 1959/60.
