    Hi Janice, thanks for that. I would never have thought to look for Daltons (assuming they ARE really Duttons, which seems likely given the other info). Some of the information on the census and BMD records is amazingly inaccurate! Mike

    They could be, it's the right area. Not direct grandparent line, but could be related. Will follow these up, thanks. I've been Googling for old pictures of The Clock, but there's nothing of the old pub, just the mock Tudor one that replaced it.

    OK. I have access to the 1851 myself at the moment via my Genes Reunited membership, and I can search it, but don't find those particular Duttons, which seems odd, given the above. How did you find the quoted information (e.g. can you search via address - such as The Clock Inn)?

    Hi, First-time poster here, reviving this old thread, because I'm researching my mother's family tree - Duttons - and I think these Duttons at The Clock may be my ancestors. I've found some Dutton stuff on the 1861 Census (from Genes Reunited), which ties up with the above, but I can't find...
