    Cant be 1958 as the Triumph Herald did not come out till 1959. The Herald does not look Factory Fresh so I guess photo is 1962 ish.

    How delightful, UOJ554 An A105 I think, [by the wheel trims, the A95 had less elaborate trims] Locally produced, both my dad & grandad worked at 'The Austin' over the years.

    A delightful photo, takes me back to 1960, with dad [who used to work at 'The Austin'] filling up the [locally built] A95 at small garages such as this. Regarding the milk, I remember these, I think they had crown bottle tops, and were they also known as 'homogenised' milk?

    I seem to remember there was a miniature railway in Calthorpe park many years ago. Am I correct or am I dreaming again?.

    occupants of 151 Varna Road

    I remember in the 1970's Varna Rd had such a bad reputation that it was all pulled down, and new houses / flats built with the road altered and given a new name. The name Varna could not be used again. A useless fact is that Varna is a port in Bulgaria.

    Pricing expensive items in Guineas was common right up to 1971 a Guinea was 21 shillings so made items seem cheaper than they really were.
