    In the first picture the fire station was the building to the right.Some other places on Rolfe street in the 70,s ,were....Smethwick drop forgings....Spears,s metal polishers,and Morrises pet shop supplies .The stafforshire knot amd white horse pubs amongst many buildings that used to be on that...

    Old thread i know.But just to add.I did some voluntary work at Barnsley Hall in the 70,s.It was definately a mental hospital.

    B'ham Boarding School 1881

    I spent three years from 1970-1973 in Druids Heath approved school in Aldridge .There was only one member of staff that was low life.He later worked at Tennel (nuff said)Apart from that i have fond memories of the place.Bearing in mind that Aldridge was a village back then !

    Skin Hospital

    Hi, i was a patient on a few occasions at the skin hospital.That was in the sixties when the hospital was in Edgbaston.Looking on Google Earth its now a row of flats.Does anyone have any pictures or links to the original buiding?
