That unfortunate soldier who drowned here in 1857 appears to be my 3x great uncle, Patrick Geraghty / Garratty. He was 22.

Lovely photos! I will show my mom and ask, but I can't see my grandparents there, which leads me to suspect my mom wasn't there either, although the girl about to sneeze looks a bit like her!

Hi Lyn, according to FreeBMD the marriage was in the Aston reg district (Sep 1841). Can't find it on Ancestry at all.

I'll have to ask my mom if she remembers any names. This would have been taken late 40s.

Thanks so much for these, my great-grandparents lived on William Street just down from the Gough Arms between at least 1935 and 55, it's wonderful to see how it looked.

Yep, that's exactly the problem. There are quite a few medal roll cards that could apply to him, but without even knowing what regiment he was in...
